So fuel is sold in Litres, right - but we work our distances in Miles, in the UK, anyways. So how the hell do we work out the MPG figure?

Well, I found this calculator thingy and thought it'd be handy for those like me who cannot be bothered to work it out the hard way.

Fuel Consumption Calculator

I did mine after going 130 miles on £10 of diesel, about 9 litres - 65.5Mpg, not bad for a modified 2L diesel

I've probably dropped 30 mile per tank on the 2l gen 1, which, let's face it aint too bad, particulaly since I'm still getting used to the car and it's been icy.

www.fuelly.com let's you keep track of your mpg for the entire life of your car, if you're that interested. It also means you can share it with other people, like my signiture :b

Burger - I have just signed up to this site and am trying to add a 'fuel up' but it doesnt like the price per litre. am entering 105.9 but it says its not a realistic amount, while i agree its too much but thats what i pay.

How do you enter it?

Multiplying my MPG figure from above by the tank size in gallons I get an estimated endurace of around 700 miles :b

1.059, which will round it to 1.06 I expect. As it's done by £/l no p/l

I've always used this:

In fact, the site is very useful, I get most of my advice from the articles on there

Same one as Lidl then... Might have a nose around on there if you reckon the site is pukka...

Androo - Turbodiesel is the future, mate. Look at those 3.0V6 twin-turbo models from Vauxhall etc. Same or greater torque as our modded V6, half the emissions (therefore lower tax) and similar hp. Shame they don't sound the same though, and a bigger shame Hyundai never thought to stick a sorted TDCi into the Coupe.

yeah those calculators are only accurate if u brim it do your mileage and brim it again to get your fuel used. i rellay think it isn't working for you because you only put like a tenner in a time.
i get around 36mpg but you would be doing more city driving it still should be around 30
