A common fault is the sunroof drain tubes get blocked. Clean them out by blowing down them or using something like welding wire.

is it rainwater or coolent? Have you noticed the windscreen getting misted up when the blowers are on?

Although ive never heard of it going on a coupe, signs of water in the footwell is typically the dreaded heater matrix leak.

If its rainwater - then thats a different kettle of fish

its rain water and is only there after heavy rain. cheers

i have the issue in the passenger footwell.

we believe it is either:

a) the silicon on the windscreen not being perfect
b) the little drain for rain water (under wiper blades) being blocked
c) water running into the inner wing, and following the amp power cable through and into the passenger footwell

d) the dreaded heater matrix

You'll have to let us know which it is but I'll lay odds on "b". Leaves and other cr*p easily build up and block these drain holes causing water to overflow into heater and then the foot wells.
Had this problem on another car and solved it by finding where the drain pipes hung down near the bulkhead in the engine bay and then squeezing them like milking a cow. This broke up the blockage and allowed the free flow of water again and solved the problem. I don't know where the pipes are on the coupe.
