Some lovely so and so has kindly decided to modify the paintwork on my coupe. I left the coupe in a local authority car park for a couple of hours only to return and find a big dent on the rear passenger side wing and corner of my bumper. Of course after speaking to the car park owners, they advised me to contact the police as there was nothing they could do. I was pretty p*ssed off at this point and about to go into a fit of rage, storming around the car park to find the culprit when I noticed a note on my windscreen. Someone had seen my car being damaged and kindly took a note of the registration number and type of car, Ford Focus in this case. There was also a contact number on the back of the card which might help.

So, I've now been and reported it to the Police who were very helpful and they advised me to contact my insurance company to notify them so here's hoping it can be rectified. I would have preferred it if they just gave me the address of the person involved and I would have sorted it out myself

this happened to me early last year, but I never got a note on my car mine was quite bad aswell, when I found my car it was parked diagonally I remember thinking Im sure I was in my lines and then saw this huge dent. I could have cried. And now I have a shoddy wing fitment because I got it done on the cheap

bet it was woman or an old person.

I left a note on a guys merc last week, a woman in a 57 plate scooby pulled into the kerb infront of this parked car, did horrendeous damage to her car and the merc but calmly got out and walked away. I don't know about the owner but I was livid

& what I always find amusing is that even if you park in an empty area, you come back and find others have parked all around you

UPDATE: Right, so far the police have still not bothered contacting the driver so I went ahead and phoned my insurance company with the details I had and to notify them just in case the offending driver got in touch first. They advised me of the policy number and the insurance company she is using. I am saying "she" because it was Diamond insurance that owns the policy so I'm guessing it’s a female. This was later confirmed by the police although they couldn't give me anymore details.

I contacted Diamond today and gave them all the details and also advised the incident has been reported to the police. I also advised them someone witnessed it. They were very helpful and told me they will contact the policy holder today by phone to get her side of the story and call me back so fingers crossed.

Here's hoping that when she is presented with all the evidence she will admit it, otherwise I will need to obtain a witness statement.

Good to finally hear of a case like this that has actually been solved! Very good of the witness to leave you a note. Hope the car it fixed soon!

Same thing happened to me in Morrisons car park, as I drove in to the car park a woman using all of her road skills decided to ignore the one way signs and go out the quick way.

As I drove past she put her foot on the throttle and bang new passenger door please.

Give her fair due she coughed up without no hassle.
