BTCC and WRCC are quite weird... both far more enjoyable than the F1 parade-fest but both shoved off main tv chanels (WRCC on Dave and BTCC on 3, but can be easily shoved on ITV3/4 dependinf the mood, and even worse, the race-times can be dictated by other tv programs - I was at this year's Oulton Park and just seemed so wrong that the last BTCC race of the day was postponed purely cos of some other sporting tv event - probably snooker or tiddlywinks or something...)
BTCC is mainly independants - only manufactuered are Seat and Vauxhall - bit crap with only 2 names, so not the end of the world with Seat pulling out - but have to question what's going to happen to Plato and Turner... Plato do more sh*te tv-spots and Turner use his 24hr Le Man win to go back to supercars? can see it being a sad end to the Plato/Giovanardi sparing. But, at the end of the day, most ppl there are independants like Mike Jordan and his son - should still be worth a watch. Shame tho - with the linking of the BTCC and the other touring car championships you would have hoped it should have prevented ppl leaving the sport
WRCC tho is almost the opposite, if the manufacturers leave then would be in a right-pickle. but... is generally a far larger sport outside of the UK so guess manufacturers just get more £££ for it...
