Hi all,

I've heard a lot about people getting dyno tests, rolling roads etc and I would be very interested to get it done after each mod...

Now, I live in Bristol, and tried to search for places with the rolling roads/dyno's for the public to use and I can't find any in Bristol or the near area, and I don't want to travel MILES every time I get a new mod!

So continued researching about it and i came across this:

I don't really no if it is a scam, if they do or don't work. So if they DID, I wouldn't mind getting 1 or even every1 chipping in and use it at meets etc making it HCS property or something like that! I think with VAT it comes to £88.13 so say £100 with postage...

Would be interesting and very useful if it did work!

this would require track time to do it legally, and would be impossible to use for comparison as it requires you to drive in an identical way to what you did on your last run (not to mention the road conditions, temperature, drivers weight, how dirty your car is etc.)

ive been wanting the coupe for a while now so i have been researching ALOT with insurance etc, best company, cover, policies. tried to cover everything for the best deal! ha




thats the coupe im going to hopefully parting cash with very soon!

in that case i must ask, have u got quotes fro the 2,0l? the difference in insurance group is one, maybe two for the gen3's. the 1.6 is 8/9 depending on trim, and the 2.0l is 10/11 depending on trim.

take a look at Parker.co.uk NOW wont you, as youl be kicking yourself if what your getting and what you really wanted were just one insurance group apart!

ah, just looked myself. it was the gen 1 i was talking abou...

the gen3 1.6's are an 8. (both model variants)
the 2.0l are a 10. so only two groups up. after 'go faster mods' im sure the 2.0l would come out cheaper overall, and not surprisingly still quicker!

the 2.7 is a group 14.

Yea I did have a look at the possibility of getting a 2.0l.

But there is a £400 difference between fully comp and fully comp and a £230 if i go TPFT, but i wouldnt want to go TPFT with a more expensive car etc...

So im looking at just shy of £1600 for the year on the 2.0... and then there is the petrol! lol

And tbh, if i was thinking about mods, after the few i rattled off earlier i wouldnt be suprised if i was looking around to 2k mark...

Which is very steep for me atm! lol

Don't get me wrong mind, i can't wait to get the 2.0, and at the moment im a inpatient sod at the best of times, but this time i think i just got to bite the bullet and hold fire for another year...

Can't wait another year however in a ford ka, so the 1.6 is a definate at the moment!!! lol
