Well, thought I had a good week last week when I went to Audi to collect a new A6 for a customer and saw this baby and couldn't resits taking a few pics:

That was last week, today I drove this and what a beast it is:

Have a close look at the 3rd pic (MPG), this was after some gentle driving with a gentleman on a big bike trying to keep up

. This is no doubt the best car I have ever had the pleasure of driving, 5.7 litre V10 monster with an awesome sounding engine :mrgreen:

It's not coupe prices either, but god they're lovely.
To be honest, if I had that sort of cash to spend theres a good chance I wouldn't be a coupe owner. I'd belong to a different league and buying cars from that league that I can only dream about now.

R8 is v v nice, seen about 4 in the flesh now. 1 seems to use the same road as me home from work, and another is occasionally parked in a drive round the corner - bas*ard!

know it's an ace car, but for the 70k mark, tbh almost think I'ld go for something else - M5 possibly. Plus, REALLY dont like the naff led strips under the headlights - will look awful in a couple years when one or two of them have blown...

They do a diesel for the R8 mate

Diesels are pretty swift as is shown by the winning ways of the Seats in the World Touring Car Championships. They leave the petrol engined cars behind on the straight.
Pity Hyundai don't do a Diesel Coupe Turbo, it would be superb, and a lot easier on the pocket fuel wise.

Ha ha the Glasgow to Cork road is a bit of a spin alright!!!!

Still if i had a R8 or S8 i'd do it!!!!
I was reading somewhere that the V12 diesel will be making an outing in other VW group products in different states of tune. The q7, new Bently, A8, and a few more!!!still tho it doesnt get better dan the R8!!!

Can I have your job? That would possibly be my dream job. Love all the audis but in particular the A5 and R8 hit the sweet spot. (I think ther the only 2 I would ever think of swapping my Gen 3.5 for.) Lets get saving!
