surely 12 months inside for being half a pint over is abit exessive, a guy i knew in uni was totally hammered and just had a fine and a 2 year ban.

well atleast you can get wrecked when ever you want now for the year and not have to worry about driving.

Practice abstinence for the year so you get in the habit, whilst at the same time spending an hour or so a week sitting in your coupe (off road), running the engine and use your imagination.
Plenty of time to do those jobs and mods you promised you'd do but never go round to, so at the end of the year you'll have a great looking coupe back on the road and fully serviced etc.

They'll only give you 9 months if you attend the alcohol awareness course, and it's actually quite enjoyable.

I got my licence back in october for being only half a pint over, you get used to not having a car after a while so it's not too bad. Keeps you fit walking or using a bike too. My insurance wasn't nearly as bad as I thought when I got it back either but it teaches you never to make the same mistake twice.

Come on scout, he's feeling bad enough already, I was trying to give him something to look forward to, not dread. I'm sure, as all of us are, that he's aware of the insurance hike to come but as Toledo says, his wasn't half as bad as he expected, so theres some light at the end of the tunnel.

Mod on mate, I'm sure the insurance won't be as bad as you think and 9 months will fly by.

Just promise me one thing, If you ever feel like having a drink when you get your licence back take a taxi.

Since the car is no doubt off the road now is ther any scope for cancelling your current tax and insurance to get some cash back or is the car driven by someone else ?
