Post subject: | LPG Tax??? |
Hi. I have been looking for the answer to this . If you get your vehicle fitted with a LPG gas conversion. With the emmisions reduced and the certificate to prove it . Can you reregister the vehicle with the DVLA as alternative fuel . and how much VED road tax will you pay. Or is it just £15 less than the standard tax. Cheers for any help. |

i pay £70 for my mondeo. think it should be £105ish? its not a lot different but makes me smile when i buy tax, lol... you should get a certificate when you get the conversion done as long as its by a registered fitter... |

as iv said in other threads youll make back a LOT of money. i do 350 miles a week... thats a full tank. i save about £30 per tank of LPG... £30 x 52 weeks is £1600ish... times that by 3 years and youll save £3000ish can do a whole lot more with £3000 than what you can with £1750 |

when i got my gen 3 v6 it was lpg converted already and if i remember right the tax was only £10 a year less than normal the only reason i bought the coupe was the fact it was lpg'd, when i got it lpg cost 30p a litre, i think its up to about 55p now, still a saving but its starting to catch up warentee wise i got an aftermarket AA one and when the clutch went they had no problem paying out as i'd declared the conversion when i took the warentee out insurance wise again it was declaired and i had to produce a certificate of fitting from a registered lpg fitter, same as when i had the tank removed and replaced with a spare wheel well type i got rid of it in march last year and have regretted it ever since, if i could get it back tomorrow i would, great car, great mods and with lpg great economy if any new users havent seen it in any old threads (as i haven't been on for a while) here she is, if anyone knows of its where abouts now i'd love to know, i sold it to someone in newton-le-willows....... this was the original tank that was in when i first got it but it took up too much room so i had it changed for the wheel well type so i could have a boot again....... i fabricated a false wooden floor which i carpeted to match the rest of the car, it was resing on top of the new tank, i lost about 5 inches in depth off the boot height, now i had a new floor it was time for part 2 of the plan....................... refill the boot!! this is the car when i got it........ and when i very stupidly sold it........ note the lpg filler on the drivers side apologies if you've seen them before but i thought i'd share them with the newer members god i miss that car |
