Well just finished putting in my red footwell leds which light up when you open the door then dim out when you close it, just like the overhead map lights.

I thought i would do a little guide incase anyone else wanted to do it (my cars a gen 3 btw), so here goes (i apologise in advance for the low pic quality they were all taken off my phone):

First remove the sunglases case and map light panel.
There are four screws





then you will need to cut into the red and yellow wires, red = positive yellow = negative (in my car this may be different for others)
this is where you will connect the wires to from the led strips




and attach the wires for your leds




now i fed my wires through the roof and down the passenger pillar
and behind the glove box, it is best to remove the glove box first, there are 6 screws 3 underneath and 3 inside at the top,




the wire will come through this little gap if you feed it through the bottom corner where the dash meets the pillar










now all you need to do is connect up the leds and stick them in place,

i fed the wire through the foot blower thing to get it to the drivers side
