Finally got round to tinting my rear lights today. I'm very happy with how they turned out. Used some Savage Tinting Spray and a couple of coats of clear coat.



The photos make them look darker than they actually are, but they do look mega

how many coats of tint did u give it?

not got any pics of them together atm, was getting dark while I was refitting them. Did around 4 coats of tint and 2 coats of clear.

I've been toying with the idea of doing this myself, but I was a bit worried I'd make an arse of it and be left with no lights.
Might give it a go tho

it's dead easy to do, just take your time and dont make the coats too thick or it'll run. I had a heater on them the entire time to speed up the process too.

Think I'll try it in a few weeks, gotta finish the boot first

Looks nice mate, especially on a black car. I was tempted to tint mine but i got the gen 3.5 lights fairly cheap.

Is your reversing lights useless in the dark now? iv seen these done on NT and they mask the reverse light to keep it bright

Will get round to doing mine soon, do you get the spray off ebay or is there a cheaper alternative?

Edit: Ok nevermind, This has prompted me to buy two tins of tinting spray off Amazon for £8.60 each with free shipping.

What's the process involved for this? I'd be interested in doing mine eventually, but more of a lighter tint. I'm guessing it's not simple as Remove->Spray->Replace? I gather there to be sanding and polishing involved?

reversing light is still nice & bright. No sanding involved, just a good clean before hand. Reflectors still work when headlights shine on them.

Speedy_B it is just as simple as Remove->Spray->Replace. I had a heater on them the whole time which sped the process up a lot too.
