Thanks mate. It was around the 50-60 quid mark from Sharkracing, it's a good mod & you can feel the difference it makes to your electrical system. VERY easy to install. I notice this thread has came up twice on forum bord, don't know how that happened :\

Think I'll get one, and fit it while I'm doing all the sound system wiring.

Soooooooo much wiring to do

Be a good idea mate being as your doing all the ice thing. You should also consider getting the volt stabiliser whilst your at it as this will improve your electrics & sound system

Think I might do.

Pretty sure I seen them both for sale as a special deal together somewhere before. Could be wrong tho

you can make your own grounding kit for a fraction of that price. '0' guage cable and 1 or 2 packs of connectors and some shrink wrap/electrical tape, what ever you prefer. if you find my photo thread in the photo section you can see mine :thumbup

Very nice mate your car is looking more amazing by the day! I dread to think what you have spent on it so far. Does this improve the cars response times and make it a bit faster? or is it just for the sound system etc?

I know ground wire kits can be DIY'd but i couldn't be bothered making one up & i thought a proper manufactured one would look better, plus i had the Volt Stabiliser in with the package. Hats off to anyone who makes thier own though, more money for beer :beer

Nice one mate thank you for your comment. I must admit i have gone overboard with the money on this one & if my misses knew exactly what i've spent then she would be prity p*ssed, though i get the feeling she does know. I brought the coupe new from HYUNDAI & always wanted to tune it. Too much money spent but it's something i needed to get out of my system if you know what i mean

That looks pretty fine - as asked above, have you noticed any difference with the drive? Some say they improve idling and make lights (headlights specif.) brighter...

Might do a roll-me-own on the SDi, that kit looks good but I'm a cheap bugga with sod-all money :lol

Electrical system is better, lights inside & out are brighter, car stereo player (mines standard hyundai issue) is much improved & car starts smoother, idle seems better. Theoretically by grounding your car better & stabilising it with a volt stabiliser should increase performance by restoring lost bhp, theoretically!!. But i didn't drive it because i took the fuel pump out soon after

I don't need one made up mate but there maybe people interested on here who will, if you do em a good deal. I'll settle for a few beers though if your offering :lol

This thread: viewtopic.php?f=19&t=20094&p=223350 ? Seems the pics have done a disappearing act :)

Would be very interested in the pics for the grounding, as I'm looking at making some of my own at the moment :)

How could a car lose bhp through a crap grounding system? :shrug

Meh, never mind - brighter lights and better starting has settled it for me...

Didn't say a crap groundind system, said "Grounding it better"
You lose BHP though various parts of the engine & gear box. Take the pulleys & flywheel for instance, people get around this by putting lighter/smaller pulleys on & lighter flywheels. Now 'theoretically' you can do the same by improving your electrical system by grounding it better than standard & sticking volt stabilisers in etc. Theoretically. Be interesting to see some proper results on these sort of mods

Sort of like a better, fatter spark during the ignition cycle then? Same as fitting fat plugleads and performance plugs...

Be interesting to see a before'n'after dyno run, as you say ;)

That's right mate improve the electrical system & improve the bang at the plug. personally i've always thought that OEM grounding/electrical systems ain't always been the best they could be. You know thinking about it i would of loved to of run a dyno on my car then fitted the plugs, leads, volt stabiliser & grounding kit then dyno again. Dam it should of done it

Wouldn't make a performance difference on my Diesel, mate - no spark, obv. but if it makes the damned headlights brighter then it can only be good.

good grounding is the single most important part of any electrical system to get the most out of it effeciently. i noticed smoother idling, more instant starting(less cranking time) even in damned cold we've had, haven't noticed any performance improvement or brighter headlights though.

Ill get those pics sorted out, don't know why they've disappeared...... :shrug

Performance gains would be minimal, too small to notice. Still a great mod though & even better if you've changed everything else. One thing i've noticed is i can turn my head unit up louder without distortion. I'm not really into the amp thing & i run a standard hyundai issue head unit. When i played a CD i could turn the vol to 18-20 max (depending on CD) without distortion, now with the volt stabiliser & grounding kit i can turn it up 23 no probs. Car starts nice & crisp too

Business did & is going well but to be honest i make enough to put back in. I could of done with spending money else where but i put it on the car as it was something i felt i needed to do. I did save a lot of money because all work i carried out myself with the exception of some alloy welding. Future plans maybe a Coupe with a completely different engine, say a NISSAN straight 6 turbo or something. It's something me & my mate was talking about doing & it would only be something that i would do to make money on. Stick that to the yanks eh
