Started building my fibreglass sub box last week. Its a lot more difficult than I originally thought it would be.

i put in pipes to run cables to the capacitor:

I have it covered now and the first layer of fibreglass is done. I'll post a pic later.

And I have the Pyle Audio equaliser fitted under the headunit too. Not a perfect fit, but I've filled the gaps at each side now.

Should have it finished in a couple of weeks. Equaliser looks a lot better now since I sorted out the gaps at the sides

are the subs not going to break the coax speakers as they will be pushing them outwards.

As above...

Surely the subs should be in sealed enclosure of their own?? Different speakers playing different frequencies all in the 1 enclosure cant be good...

Apart from that though, nice progress... :)

Should be ok. I had them in the same box in my 206 and I didn't have any problems. I have the box ported so there shouldn't be too much pressure.

Should have a little under half of the boot space left. As long as I can still fit a bag of coal in, it should be fine.

Nearly have the box finished now. Gotta get started on the mounts for the amps on either side of the boot

Thanks Paul.
Its nearly finished now.

2 of the pipes I put in to run the power cables to and from the capacitor. (Theres one coming out the other side for the earth cable):

Have it primed now. Few low spots here and there that have to be filled, but its finally starting to look like something:

Cheers Rik. I think I've pretty much covered all the bases if anyone wants to give it a go themselves. I wasn't overly difficult to build, anyone with a bit of common sense could probably knock one together.

Getting a good smooth finish is where it gets very time consuming tho.

I'll post more pics as it progresses. Bit more sanding to do before I spray it black.

Cheers Rik.

Yeah, I think Halfords should start giving me discounts considering how much fibreglass, filler, and spray paint I've bought there

That doesn't take up as much room as I thought it would, looks good... :D

How do you get on getting access to the spare wheel?

The section in the floor still lifts up.. I measured it at the start, and built it to allow for access to the spare.

Plenty of room. Its all good :thumbup

That looks ace! Good effort! :thumbup

How long (work hours) did it take to complete?

Might give it a go myself. Got all my speakers, subs and amp out my last car just sitting about at the moment.

Its a kinda 3 piece board in the floor. The section of it closest to the seats is partially covered but is easily slid out.

The spare wheel just about clears the box.
