will post updates on here as and when they happen:

list so far:
fl/2 interior handle and grip pull, to match the siii drivers side window switch (flat gunmetal colour with blue lit switches)

modified gen3 speedo - (lights replaced with smd's, siii guage faces - cut below the guage and gen3 guage bottoms cut and stuck on, as the bottom indicator lights are in different places. the cut line is a little obvious right now but il sort that eventually lol) i also swapped the "cruise" smd for blue and in the future il add more to fix the "hotspots" and make the indicator arrows blue, and possibly make the needles blue, or white not decided which if either.

siii steering wheel - big improvement! the gunmetal inserts and gunmetal "srs air bag" strip match perfectly, alos its not slippery like the gen3 wheel with its overly slippy shiney leather.

in the mix:
ive got another digital climate control unit im working on, just witing for the extra smd's and resistors from DD and il be away with that, all buttons and screen will be blue to match the rest of the interior (eventually). Ive alos got an siii console which im going to cut the climate controls out of and fit the modified gen3 digital climate control unit, because its better looking and thaqts what plugs into my car, as the connectors are different.
il then mould a double din touchscreen into the console to go to the car pc ive bought (just waiting on finding a decent power supply, and the screen) and that will be that. then im left with the buttons at the top: il have to get hold of a plug for them and wire it up myself once i get a wiring diagram for the siii console and the gen3 buttons but i should imagine the hard bit will be finding the diagram! then console will be complete.
as far as sound goes then il be cutting the ashtrey out and cigarette lighter socket and fitting a single din cd player at the bottom.

So far so good mate. How far are you going with this? I mean are you planning a full interior and exterior conversion? Look forward to seeing more :thumbup

yep FULL on, ive got all body parts and lights i need less the drivers wing.

soon il be getting the rear bumper sprayed and fitted, with the rear lights and backbox. still waiting on the wing then i can get the front end done but i dont fancy paying dealer prices for a NEW wing haha!

im gonna leave seats and door cars as theyre near as damnit the same, and i fancy looking into so sports seats later when i go for performance upgrades (s/c, full stainless system, 14" 8pot front brakes and 14" 6pot rears, and coilovers loweres only about 40mm but for the stiffer dampers etc, and the piesta resistance either a RWD of 4WD conertion if i can find a good way round to doing this lol) so pretty much full on project and the current seats dont offer much hold round corners lol. im gonna look for some decent sports recliners and get them retrimmed to have a T logo sewn into the seatbacks too ;)

should add that i tried to cheat with the speedo, i bought one off a newtib member that had already converted his speedo white, and had same mileage but when i got it his didnt have the computer bit that shows how far til fuel runs out etc etc that comes with a second pin on the front so was gutted that i had to de-solder all the smds off that and try to put them on mine, only to find out that he must have used re-used smds as they werent in great shape and half of them didnt work after the swap (they DID work in his) so i desoldered the sm,ds from the siii console and put them on mine. was a LOT of effort and from all the fumes i was high as a kite all day hahaha.

in future i may look at offering an exchange service on converting gen3 consoles but ONLY like for like, and clear guages with a lighting colour of your choice, but il have to see about that. lol :D

How easy is it to get the speedo out?

I keep on coming back to thinking about a blue speedo!

speedo is easy to take out, 2 screws under the surround "hood", yank that off hard, flat head screwdrivers are good to lever it off to start, then 4 screws hold the speedo in, taking the speedo apart is a series of tabs that just push out, but have to be pushed a few at a time or they just clip back in ll, then it gets fiddly, and as ive found its a pain to get the needles just right (mine need re-adjusting next time i fill up the tank fully) in the right places afterwards.
as for the lights inside theyre "smd's" which are flat, square, led's that dont have legs, only tiny contact points. theyre an absolute pain, especially when you are desoldering off something else and re-using, as ive found. which is why ive ordered some fresh onest to get rid of the "hot spots" do the indicator arrows blue, and replace one dodgy one on the instrument panel.

after ive completed the lighting side, im going to rebuild the 2 spare speedos i have in blue (2.0 siii, and v6 one with only one button stick and no computer) to use as temporary ones. then il offer a colour change service whereby you come to me (i move about alot) and il fit the temporary speedo into your car, then il change the colours to whatever the hell colours youd like, mix and match if you want, and then when done come back and il swap them back again and off you go (price undecided as ive not worked out the material cost yet lol). and il be doing a one for one swap on the console parts (air con/climate control units, clock and buttons, but again this is TBC pending interest lol

also the door locks dont have lights, its just the way it reflected the flash lol
