That is spot on, great job with that.

What are those machine polishers like? Easy to use or a complete PITA? What are they like for the paintwork also, good news or bad?

I don't know much about them at all, but I assume you apply the product like normal then just use the machine to buff it all off? What products did you use?

I used a mequires G220, including a variety of pads and polishes cost about Â£200....

So it aint cheap stuff...

Polished bliss gave me a lot of advice on what to use, for hyundai paint which is generally very soft i used a green lake country CCS polishing pad (little to no cut) and Menzerna Final polish 2, you apply it to a small section and slowly draw the polisher back and forth over the paint untill the polish turns clear (usually takes about 5 minutes for a 18" square section)

This site gives a good supply of advice:

As with using all abrasive polishes, a certain amount of paint is removed, but in this case as its such a fine cut its less then a micron removed, full paint correction isnt ahievable without getting to more agressive polishes, but without a paint thickness gauge i wouldnt like to risk it.

Yup, and 10 hours is pretty good by some standards, paint correction details can take in excess of 35 man hours!

But as Martind511 says, to wash this car at the moment can be done in less then half an hour, and it will always look that good!

Next on the agenda is to try and use some more agressive polishes and pads on a few deeper scratches, and some etching that a bird bomb left...
