I still find it almost impossible to read the main forum list, the red text just doesnt stand out and kind of shimmers to me. Its colourblindness, my fault I know but it does deter me from browsing the forums like I used to

Its a nightmare, thought it was down to me!

We had to pick a style to use for the change over to phpbb3 and this is it. As no one in the mod team is colourblind we didn't know it would cause a problem.

The reasons for the style have be mentioned in plenty of other topics.

As some point I will probably change the template, but if I do it too soon I will probably just upset a bunch of other people!

Hutchy, please feel free to link to the template you have found. Ideally what I wanted was a forum with a white background that matches the style of the main site http://www.hyundaicoupe.info but couldn't find one

I didn't want a black/grey forum.

i actually like this colour now i got used to it

the layout it'self and it's colours arent bad (although begging for a longer banner )

but the forum body's links which are "pure red" do seem to clash with the background.. if that could be lightened in a small way, I think you'll be on to a winner

Its difficult to explain just how distracting it is even more so as I`m no good with colours LOL.

Everything on site interms of colour looks great to me. The red on the other hand shimmers and is illegible. This is on a 28 inch monitor as well as two different laptops.

This is a great site and I know I`ve learnt a great deal since joining in March last year - aswell as having saved a packet through the tips etc.

For me, and this is a personal statement, this shimmering just makes certain parts of the site unusable.

Would it be that hard to just change that red?

No, it's not hard, I just haven't got around to trying different shades or colours yet.

to me it's certainly a lot better, as the colours dont clash.

I dont have any problem with colours or my eyes usually, but as well as the red, some of the blues are really bad (fuzzy) for me to look at. I dont think the issue is so much with the fact its red text, but more a problem with the shade of grey used as a background.

Tried the site on 3 monitors and all the same... If you tilt the screen so not looking at it directly, or turn the brightness of the monitor right down then this helps a lot.

us laptop users could just adjust the tilt of the screen

I very much like that shade of red, and, unless anyone struggles with them, I think that should remain the colour
