I agree and I know i've been guilty of initially doing this in the past but have always given a price. I think that pictures must also be put up of any items being sold as too many don't do it which discourages potential buyers.

Since this is about selling items are we aloud to post our phone number on the add
as I have never seen one, the reason being there are an awful lot of guests useing the forum and presumably could not post us if they were interested sorry to go slightly off topic

I can concur with you all here, the most annoying thing is not knowing how much the seller wants.

I for one would be happy to delete any selling threads without a price. Obviously group buys etc. usually depend on numbers so this rule can be stretched there.

Scout, deleting might be a bit harsh, maybe a reminder from the mods posted as a response to the ad. If no price stated then lock the thread?

I think aswell with the offers scheme thing... Every1 has an idea of how much theyd like, how much theyd loove, and the minimum theyd let something go for.

Most people try and haggle, if you no you want £100 for something, advertise it at £120 then when some1 under-cuts it you get what you want aswell as the buyer!

I think it's useful to have sold items still available for both buyers and sellers alike - it gives a useful benchmark for the market value. As a buyer I find it particularly useful to determine how often any given item tends to come up hence whether or not it's worth waiting around for something round the corner.

With regards to first dibs or any other rule it cannot be enforced so I don't think there's much point in having it. A seller should be able to sell to whoever he likes, for whatever reason - there are so many factors which can sway their decision so as location, confidence on a closed sale etc and I don't think we are in a position to justify undermining that.
