agreed.some of the new posts put up in the serious questions(not wibble)are pretty mudane too partly because people just wont use the search button...........
dodge and macker do a stellar job but is it time for a few replacement mods too to crack down on the issues a bit,as the mods list needs refreshing as people like kupsjon admit they aint been on for ages and have lost interest in the coupe these days........

no-one seems to realise this internet thing is a big place, theres an address bar at the top of most browsers... if you want to have general conversations there are a whole host of sites designed just for that.. facebook myspace.. hey go wild on there.. msn is a live chat thing and you can have chatroom style convos with many people at the same time.. Yea i think that is the case for sure mate. People dont have any lazy or bad intentions, just want a through answer to there specfic point.

But obviosly for the more frequent posters on here, me included now, im starting to notice alot of repeat questions....

generally easier to have the chat in the thread though, something on the site would be easier for people I think as people may choose to use that, it is just how social conversations go though and I think you'll do well to clamp down on it.

I agree with Lakes, I've also noticed the useless titles that people post with, such as 'Gen3 Bored', it would be useful if people posted the problem to help with the search engine

i think thoughts that anyone is hostile towards any sort of gen is CRAP!!!! what a crock!! nobody is actually hostile to any gen except in joking,myself and scout often have a laugh but at the end of the day you dont hear people coming to meets and saying....oh god a gen 3 i hate those!!! gen wars started as a bit of fun and thats what it is.to think that people genuinely believe they will be abused cos they own a gen2,for example, is ridiculous.........and anyone who does think like that shouldnt be on here anyway.on any internet forum such as this you need a healthy sense of humour and a certain sense of self mocking.......................and just for the record i dont think there is much pming going on behind the scenes........people will post if they want to on one of the serious topics anyway.....if they dont wanna post and join in.........why the hell join an internet forum all about joining in???? i know some people only read cos they want help or info.......but a site is only as good as its members contribution

The way things come across on forums, msn, emails and txts alike can be VERY perceiving tho dupe.

To the outsider, that doesnt no what were all realy like, or hasnt had time to no us they dont no what to expect.

Ive had tons of arguements and discrepencies over msn etc, because they think im being rude, ignorant or just pr*ckish, but in actual fact i was trying to be funny. Emotions cant be potrayed through text, even if you put at the end.

We all no that no1 ACTUALLY hates any of the coupes, its a friggin coupe owners club for 1! But people can be lead to believe it. Especially if theyve read 4 or 5 threads on something and though sh*t ive got a gen2 and all they do is rip it... I dont fancy that abuse. Trust me, people do think like that.

hig we discussed having an im function before but the general thing was that its an imformation forum and alot of folks would miss out on alot of useful imformation.............and as lidl rightly says thats what msn is for

no he's just being him.i know that digging through loads of unrelated posts annoys folk.perhaps when there are more mods there will be a chance to monitor a bit closer.but we must remember new tib had a real crackdown and now they are losing members right left and centre to HHOP.....its finding the measure thats the problem and you will never please everyone.......

I will state my opinion on this subject and leave it at that as the final decision on what (if anything) needs to be done is Xorros and Xorros alone, after all it is her website.

I joined the forums because I fell in love with a gen2 coupe, I wanted to find out more about it so went looking for an owners club to join. Stumbled across this site and started reading. At the time Macker, Geesmith, the dodgemeister, Paulgen3red and Brooksy were all prolific posters and the general feel of the site was friendly and welcoming. I joined the site in the middle of a gen wars and naturally joined forces with Macker to fight off the insults, it didn't make me think "Oh, I've got the wrong car, I'll keep my head down". Since then I have become the biggest poster (although I think Hig will take my title before Christmas), some of it has been useful to others, some was random comments on others posts and some were so far off topic to be ridiculous. However I wouldn't have it any other way, I still feel the forums are welcoming rather than some I have visited where you are frightened of posting anything because if you get it slightly wrong someone will ridicule you in open forum. I understand that some people want just facts but that does not make a friendly forum. It should be remembered that most of the members on this forum have not paid more than £10,000 (many have paid a lot less) for their pride and joy, this is not some exclusive forum for people with pots of money this is a forum for the common man (or woman) who love their coupe. I think this forum is great and would hate to see it killed off by the 'should be' brigade. I have found myself posting less recently, not sure why, maybe because I have run out of things to say, this will please the purists I'm sure.

Anyway I will finish now, and await the decision made by Xorro on how she sees the forums moving forward

Some interesting reading on this topic. Just to add my opinion, i joined the site as soon as i bought my gen 3 mainly because i dont know much about cars and i like to find out the common faults, tips and mods that people are doing. I didnt join for the banter at all and i dont tend to join in that much but i do read it and i have to admit...its quite amusing sometimes

I do feel we need to split up the forum into different sections for different gen's as we all know the search function doesnt get used as much as it should. But this has always been the problem with the internet and NOT just this site.

Getting back onto the serious side of things, you can make it too serious and people just wont bother with the site at all, you will just find people browsing the site to find problems that they have instead of getting to know the members and what they have done to their coupes in order to copy or create their own ideas. At the end of the day it is a community not just a fact site.

i enjoy the banter, but (repeating i know), it does seam to go a bit ott sometimes, BUT its the banter that keeps me comming back to have a read and catch up, even if i have turned to the dark side now lol! i have met a few ppl on here, and would have no hesitation doing it again.. nothing has stopped or scared me from posting from day 1.

i also use a forum for my new car, its basically the same banter etc as on here, but they do have sections just for questions and answers etc, and then completely seperate bits for the banter.....

there are guides and writes up's that have been done. but none have been done recently and are now becoming difficult to find in the search engine. so yes i agree maybe gather them all up into sections. for example, gen 1 guides, gen 2 etc and then even more specific like light mods etc maybe.
