I don't understand how to add an avatar its asks for an off site URL what does this mean can anyone help?

if you upload a picture to somewhere like photobucket or something like that.

then you can add the url from there.

tbh, doubt anyone would think of looking in the "posting rules" for info regarding posting images. Also, how can we trust a "rules" page when it's so out of date the image doesn't load and none of the links at the bottom work? Not having a go, just feel it the forums could be more helpful with a little updating of things.

still stand by my comments in tho - more stickies in more sections should help reduce the constant regurgitation of answers to the same questions. Gettin p*ssed posting info again and again purely 'cos it's been pruned off the forum 'cos it wasn't stickied (or the pruning is too aggressive). Guides should be re-posted (so it's not got the waffle posts above it), stickied and locked to stop it going off topic.

Well to answer your direct question without going is difficult but if you need to ask then I'm affraid the answer is 'yes you are mad' but then arn't we all

admit that ppl dont read the stickies atm, but kinda feel that could be due to them being either obviously out of date (such as links not working) and/or in un unexpected place (e.g. engine mods in diy section instead of engine section - I'ld hazard at a guess that at least 75+% of ppl check forum and dont look at front-end webby, let alone the diy's there, until refered to by someone posting a link from the forum - so why not sticky those diys in the relevant section?).

As ppl join and ask dumb questions we can then refer to stickies and hopefully ppl will get the idea quickly?

(I'll then be able to start on my next quest of suggesting ppl to not name their post-titles something competely un-helpful and un-related like "HELP" or "hi guys" when the post is about a specific problem )

Assuming the permissions are setup as such, then any mod should be able to create a sticky and lock the topic - so it's not down to you to run about and sort out. They can even re-name topics titles to be more relevant to the subject-matter

just trying to bounce ideas to make this place as informative as possible.
