The exhaust is a stainless cat back with no middle box. Sounds alright....and pritty damn loud, but, the sound has a 'blowing' (kind of like a wet fart) sound to it aswell. the piping isn't blowing, and the box is in sound condition. could the box be too small?? it's only a 1.6 engine. anyways of getting rid of the 'blowing' noise and just have the rumble, as the missus drives it around now she wants the exhaust loud and noise, but as its my baby i want it sounding good and she refuses to put a dissuser insert in.

Is it a fairly new system, as in not done many miles since fitted? If so you will find it looses the harshness as the internals become sooted up. Fitting a baffle inside the tailpipe will accelerate this.

When I first fitted the XSPower system on mine it didn't sound 'good' at all. I ran it with the baffle in for a couple months then took it out and the note had changed completely, just nice and race-like...

the piping has done about 13k and the box about 9k (had to replace the original one)

needs a resonator in it really - will quiet it down and tighten the sound up - even a midbox "might" do the job. Its down to the baffling levels in the box
