for those who dont since fruitbat has smashed his coupe he was driving around in his v8 range rover that he had as a spare car and to shooting in

the range rover has since died, and now mr fruitbat has a jaaaaaaaaaggggggggggggg, i'll forward on some facebook friends suggestions so you can all have a giggle at our lord fruitbat in his jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaggggggggggggg

What Jag though?

Jag's I would have in a heartbeat:

* XK (either one, the XK8 and XKR are both amazing)
* X-Type (3.0 sport - 230bhp with 4wd. 0-60 in 6.3s, I wanted one before the coupé)
* S-Type (either the V8 or V8R for the grunt and RWD fun)
* XF (the replacement to the S Stype and all models are impressive. The new "R" model has a bigger engine and hits 60 in 5.5s!)
* XJS (no kidding I looked at one before the coupé for a laugh)
* XJ (just because if you don a suit and get out of an XJ you look the business! Pluse they have an aluminium body so despite being big weigh about the same as a Ford Focus, so most models are surprisingly fast!)


The idea of them is they're meant to be refined versions of their standard counterparts (X-Type to the mondeo/3 Series, S-Type/XF to the 5 Series) while having big engines. Until they started the diesel engines in the X Type it was unheard of to have a diesel Jag' as they were meant to be powerful and fast, however the 2.2D X-Type has proved to be a great all-rounder!

So... what's so bad about owning a Jag'?

The 8 - 16mpg is another consideration, of course. At the time I saw mine, I was doing about a thousand miles a week. So not really that practical.

Twas a thing of beauty though, dark metallic red with cream hide...lovely...

It was a toss up between an X-type and the coupe when I replaced Pingu. Nearly went for the Jag too. It is a very good motor but I couldn't get the trim/engine/gearbox combination I wanted so got the coupe

Leather, v6 and AWD manual???

SE spec interior, sport suspension, deisel engine and auto box. Apparently it doesn't exist. I would have gone for a desiel sport and lived with the manual box but they dont have electric windows in the back or cruise control.

Can't fault you on the diesel desire - the one I took to Cornwall was a 2.0D and that was bloody quick. IIRC they run a variable-geometry turbocharger - very impressive torque and economy. We left Stoke Ferry at 9am, got to Stone henge around 3 and made Lands End at 7 or so. Waas full when we left home and I put just shy of £40 in. That was in 2004, tho

1000 miles in 2 days on £80 worth of fuel, can't be bad

i think its an xj a late 90's one looks like the sport as it dosent have the chrome grill.
