On my other car i put a HID kit on, and re-wired the whole lot so its nice and tidy, the connectoins are all fine i have checked for continunity all over. the problem i have however is the lights work intermittently almost like a lottery, which is no use. the only thing i can put it down to is not enough volts getting to the ballast to ignite the gas in the first instance. does anyone have a remedy for this?? the only thing i can think of is to put a capacitor inline to the ballast to hold 12-14 volts constantly, would this work safely??? if not does anyone have any alternative ideas?

wired to the existing wiring or through a relay and direct to the battery?

some cars require you to put a relay in so the headlight switch acts as a signal wire and the power is pulled drectaly from the car power

I agree that a relay should sort the problem, if its already installed then the problem is with your battery or alternator

right put a relay harness in and still no joy. if anythin they work less :-( i don't under stand it. i've tested the battery (which is new anyway) and thats fine. tested the alternator and that is fine aswell. and so far only the near side has worked at all :-( the only difference is the near side has a 4 pin relay and the offside a 5 pin (87a normally on) which isn't connected at all, that wouldn't cause it would it?? this is really startin to get to me now

they have done. can you check for continunity on the ballasts??? they buzz when first turned on but no lights. i know you can;t check the bulbs for continunity. i've visual checked them and theres no blacking at the end of the arc tubes, not cracks bad connectoins or anythin. Shes doin to do her nut in a me now lol

Maybe try swapping the ballasts and bulbs to see if you can narrow down the fault

problem sorted now. took apart the whole lot and put it back together with normal connectors and seems to work perfectly now. i feel there may have been a problem with the wiring in the superseal connectors, there not very reliable at all.
