Off the top of my head I had:

Yamaha FS1E
Suzuki GP 100
Honda CB125
Kawasaki KH250
Suzuki GT 250 X7 (still own)
Yamaha RD250LC
Honda CBX 550 FII
Yamaha XJ 550 (with FZ600 engine)
Suzuki GSX-R750G (still own)
Honda NSR250 PGM II

I did enjoy the 2-stroke when insurance was cheaper and the performance ratio higher, however, the 4-strokes are just less hassle at the end of the day and much cheaper to run really... must be getting old ;)

I've had bikes on and off since 2000. Currently have a Ninja 250r which is so much fun, and a more manageable height/weight for little old me, gone down to a 250 until I get back into riding.

Got a Honda Vision when I was 17, can off that once, then traded it in for a Suzuki AN125. Was hit by a BMW wrote that off, waited a year and bought a Peugeot Elesyo 125 came off that twice. Hit by a BMW wrote that off and got a Susuki CB125, came off that and gave up, losing 9 years no claims :(

I fair a little better in cars, only hit 1 BMW so far, but that was within 3 months on buying my first car.

Feels like I started biking just after I started walking.
First real bike on HP was a 250 superdream
then got the bike bug and went through loads,
KH250, GT380, CB400N, CJ250T, Cagiva 175sx with square carbs,
CB750KZ with 4 into 4 exhaust & Vetter Windjammer fairing, GS425en, Harley V-rod etc etc.
my current ride is a BMW1200RS SE, heated grips, 6 gear indicator, 12v socket, panniers, linked brakes, ABS, etc etc and it'll do about 0 to 60 in 3.6 secs, not bad for a touring shafty.

Once you start biking - its difficult to get it out of your blood.

I passed my bike test in 1975, so I've been a biker for longer than some here have been around.

Currently running a Kawasaki ZR750 (To be strictly accurate I currently have a taxed & insured ZR750 in the garage that's not going anywhere till the snows gone)

I did a bike tour of California in 2007. Pacific Coast Highway, Route 66, Death Valley, on a Harley D Sportster.

Go for the bike mate but dont spend too much on it because pretty soon you will want something bigger. Trust me at 16 i had no interest in bikes at all - until i got a 50cc scooter. got a cbr125 1 week before my 17th birthday (hardest week of my life). Had the obligatory first crash then done my test after 6 months. got myself an SV650s (didnt worry about the restriction as i was used to powerful bikes anyway - but thats for another discussion :) )

In short - go for it!
