rover 25? good or bad?

my sis wants one? i'm abit ify tho!! i know the company fell apart soo i'm weary of parts and that??

she gettin a pretty good deal? 2 grand and its an 02? just want some advice to look out for or to stay far away!!! going to have a look at it 2moro!!

what engine? some of the older ones (pre-bubble rover 200s) used honda engines in their 1.6ls and maybe continued to do so afterwards, so the engine would be fine... any actual rover engines are a no no though! haven't you told her to get a coupe already? nice gen 1 costs half as much and is twice as reliable

The K series engines (rover engines) are very good so I don't know why you are saying they are a no go...

I have two KV6 powered MG's a 1.8 L K series MG and a 1.4L Rover 25 at home...

The Rover 25 only came with the rover engines.

The 25 is one of the best cars in its class, how many other cars of that age can boast 105bhp from a 1.4? or 120bhp from a 1.4 with a zorst and filter change???

Parts are no problem as most are shared with land rover or Honda

plus I do all my own maintenance on them.

The 25 I have has had a head on crash back in all that snow last year and I am currently rebuilding the front end, this crash caused it to be driven home with no water, and then manoeuvred a few times here with no water in it... no signs of HGF at all (the most commonly stated issue with them).

I would recommend a 25 to anyone looking for a car in that class... its not a Coupe, but then a Coupe is not an MG ZS

I wouldn't have one but that's just my opinion - not based on any facts other than the 214 my wife owned for a while was a complete dog (not very scientific but you asked for opinions)
