My mate bought one of those new volvo small hatchbacks brand new hes done about 3000 miles, the other night on his way home from work thers some heavy noises coming from it so he stops and phones the RAC they come out and tell him the dealer hasnt taken these bracket type things off the shock absorbers which theyre meant to before the cars go on the road,as you can imagine hes well chuffed with his car dealer, the RAC guy asked him where he bought it so he can report them,he also said he was lucky not to have an accident some one somewheres going to get a BIG telling off.

I call bulls**t, leaving those things on would cause an uncomfortable ride, and were they to come off(which is unlikely due to their design) they would hit the wheel and be flung to the floor.

I am not defending the dealer in anyway, it is truely shocking negligence by the tech who PDI'd the car to leave them on, but its not lethal like leaving wheel nuts loose.

Pic of a suspension spring transit block(its the thing thats sitting on the spring coils)

thanks for the picture mate,i didnt know what these things looked like, the RAC guy was probably just trying to make a scene, anyway the dealership gave my mate an extra free service when its due,and they took his car in and valeted it and when he got it back the tank was full so he was quite happy with that.
