Wow your having a run of bad luck ... first you lost the Coupe ... and now you have a Puma . well i reckon things cant get any worse

. it's not too bad a situation, just gutted that most gen1's are rotting now, and gen3's are just outta my price range.

Puma seemed like a good comprimise between the two

Although, my mate bought a 2.0 focus.. 53 plate - and ok its a focus, but the ride and smoothness, and even how refined it is beats the coupe everytime (compared to Gen 1's)

I once looked at a Puma but Jan dragged me away......(it was her turn to choose her car )

The Skoda is a well built car and beats the coupe in refinement, practicality etc.

i think fords quality in the late 1990's took a real step up,and they realised their cars needed to last longer.their uprated image came with an uprated price though.you have to remember that hyundais are build on the cheap with no real aim to make them last.i think fords go systematically down hill in steps when neglected.neglect a hyundai and it seems to go all at once in a massive drop.but bear in mind hyundai are only now just starting to aim for a higher market(with the santa fe)in terms of build quality.i think they could easily equal others......but at a price they dont want to add.and whilst on my lantra i felt that was far better quality build than my gen1.it probably wasnt far off the gen3 either

My gen3 was a much tighter build than the gen1 ... possibly cos it still had a lot of newness bolted on to it... It still hadn't done much over 20k when we sold it.....unless I'm remembering wrong.

I dont mind admitting I was looking at Puma's too.
I ended up buying my beautiful black coup but I wouldnt slag off anyone for buying a puma or any other car for that matter.
You buy what you can afford and what you feel comfortable with.
Lets face it at some point we've all bought cars that our mates have slated us for, but thats what makes us all different. It would be a boring world if we all drove round in the same car.
I once had an Alfa 146 2.0ti with skirts and spoilers galore, I loved it, but everyone slated Alfa's and said it was a $hite colour.

I've got a Puma 1.7l too, and i think its a great car. It a fairly quick little motor too, a bit faster than my 1.6l Gen3.

I'm just not a huge fan of the high-ish back end. Kinda looks like its gotten a good kick up the arse.
but, as I got it fairly cheap, I can't really complain.

I still prefer driving my gen3, but its nice taking the puma out every now and then.

Hope you get yourself another coupe soon, but as a compromise for the coupe I don't think you could have picked a better car then the puma.

well, the puma served me well. onto my supra now try keepin up in your coupes now

I'll still get another coupe one day. perhaps when my mum doesn't want hers anymore
