My insurance renewal is up in 3 weeks (yikes) and there were many posts and insurance for us young lot on the coupe and reasonabley cheap prices but cant find any of them. So was wondering if you lot could help me out!

I am 19, male, live in Derby (in a decent area), will have 2years ncb with a clean license.. It will be for tpft insurance on a 2.0L Gen 1 Coupe is anyone else in a simular situation? Best i can find is 1200 smackers for a years worth of insurance but am sure i've seen people say they've paid alot less than that.. Anyone got anything?

lol id stop drivin if i had to pay that fot tpft, im with first alternative its about 880 for a 2.ol gen3 with few mods got 5 years ncd and 3 ponts

im 20 and i just got a quote from adrian flux for £1040 for fully comp with 3 years no claims and i have an induction kit and alloys.

but last year when i was 19 with out the mods and only 2 years no claims i was paying £1100 with the RAC fully comp

I can get a quote for a 2.0L Gen 3 at 700 fully comp easily.. just can't seem to get the Gen 1 price down.. As i didn't mention in my previous post (but probably should of) i wish to pay monthly as well..

try admiral, elephant est and put your mum or dad as a 2nd driver down comes the price,

also, if they ask how many miles a year you do, dont just go for the average 10-12k, work it out, i only do about 5k and that brings my price down also

Try More than! They did me a good deal. Im 21 with no ncb, no pointso n license...live in a dodgy area and i was getting quotes around 2000-3000 on a 2.0 gen 3.

More than sorted me out for £1300 fully comp.

Sky man will you insure me if my owns the car and has full ncb but i'm 18? Just me named

in respect to sky insurance i rung you up and the cheapest you could get was nearly £400 more than im payin now and xpexting to pay less when its up

what sort of quote can i get from Sky ins, i'll be 21 when it renews, 4 years no claims, clean licence. Car is Gen 1 2.0 SE

Just got a quote from More Than of £391.28. Or, £415.61 with protected no claims.

Can you do better?

I'm 24 and have 2yrs NCB and I'm paying 800 for my fully comp Gen1 2.0! Tesco FTW.

i've got a Gen 1 2.0l SE and my insurance is £1400 TPFT, mostly down to the area I live in

mine is 900 for gen 3 2.0l im 24 wth full nc and 3 points and thats with my mods wheels tints ect adrian flux quoted me 694 thinki know were ill be goin

£784 here with 2 years NCB through barclays as a broker who insured me with norwich union (although norwich union quotd me 2000 direct from them) 21 years old

I got a quote from DirectLine £75 a month fully comp - I'm 20 with 2 years NCB

One thing to remember people is that if you're paying monthly you'll often get destroyed for the extra money, often a significant amount.

If they'll give you a suitable limit, apply for something like the Capital One credit card, which has currently got 12 months Interest Free, as long as you make the minumum monthly payment (which is normally about a tenner on a grand's borrowing).

I did this on one of my last cars, and it saved me a couple of hundred quid over the course of the year; you pay off the insurance company in one lump sum (thus saving money), arrange to pay the min payment on the card each month by DD so you never get stung, then just pay off more and more of the card as and when you have the spare cash.

Also helps build you up a strong credit history. Just don't go crazy and spend it all on hats.

norwich union is cheapest by far for me at £990on my 2ltr gen2 im 19 been driving for 2 years with 1 year no claims 1 accident one my license and 3 points any modification i do will cost an extra £8 to declare lol so well worth it in my eyes

Well im 18, 2 crashs (1 my fault) 1 years driving, no ncb and to get insured on a 2.0 2004 SE its going to set me back 1200 for the year.

Live in a decent area and got the mum on the insurance as a named driver, my being the policy holder.

Thats with Kwik-Fit get 10% off everything from buying parts to labour and got a free sat nav from it all as well!

on quinn direct was just getting quotes for mods and they are wicked mind you ive had my insurance since may and they only had 3 of my 6 points on their records luckily no charge to add another 3

body kits = no charge
struts= no charge
interior changes = no charge
light changes = no charge
back boxes = no charge
CAI = £50
catback = £80
Suspension coilovers or springs = £80
Engine tweaking eg snorkus/TB heater bypass = no charge
anything hyundai eg twin pipes, bumpers etc = no charge

basically most things arent charged for except those that make a significant change to handling or performance so not too bad. insurance as mentioned in previous post is fully comp with 6 points and 3 years named driver £1200 renewal quote for May £800ish +any mods

that is good! seems a good place to go for mods then. *ring ring*
