Im just turning 18 now but my first years insurance took out last month came to about £2600 that was with HSBC. I'd been doing quotes for months previous and before they'd all been 2k or under, but then all of a sudden went up everso. Found out few days later they'd stuck them up on young drivers, highest ever increase possibly or so it said?

Although saying that I think the older coupes are a higher insurance group compared to the newer anyway?
You could always get discounts through: pass plus, adding older driver, etc
Be interesting to see what you do get it for in the end

Thanks for the comments guys, the coupe unfortunately, to my utter disapointments, and a slight tear was classed as a cat B write off, my insurance company are going to crush it tuesday, insted ive had to settle with a 1.2 clio ( its not bad but the wipers + indicator stalks are the wrong way round, Also the accutal wiper blades are too the wrong way round. But thats french for ya! im getting 40% of the value of the car as the excess was high but that will go into the next coupe in a few years. Then i shall be back with hopefully a 2litre gen2 in black of course. va va voom in the clio for now! ( by the way insurance on that is only £1600..much cheaper)
