Just spoke to the seller and everything sounds good. On this theft point he says the it was stolen 2 weeks after he bought it (may 2002) - broke into his house and stole keys - took car for a spin and stole the stereo.

It was found 2 miles away from his home and the police took it in for a week then handed to hyundai to get valeted etc. No damage was done in the theft. He says the only paperwork he has regarding that was whatever hyundai left in the booklet thing.

Excellent! Doesnt sound like a dodgy character but you never know! lol. Yeah i currently have a silver 1 but looking to change it to black. Getting a good buy with this guy if i do go ahead to buy it (hopefully!).

no they are saying if the tax was affected they couldnt have taxed it up till now.

As for this "VRM currently recorded by an insurance company as a theft" that reads that it is currently recorded as that. But I dont confess to know 100% what this means... Cant you ring your current insurance company and ask??

its now come up saying -




* The VIN is not registered with the VRM supplied
* VRM currently recorded by an insurance company as a theft
* The V5 registration document issue date does not match the information provided by the DVLA


On the check it does say -

It does say at that side -

try to see if its in the insurance data base, theres a link to tell you if its on the DVLA database too, and when the tax and MOT is due.

or text the reg to 83600 (costs about £6) to get a quick check on the vehicle

why not HPi check it?
