Hello, i recently turned 25 and i was under the impression that insurers trust you a little bit more and give you a discount of some kind since you are no longer "young".

Is there any truth in this as i dont want to phone the £1.50 a minute service to find out that it wont make any difference.

Cheers
Angelus

My insurance didnt drop massivly because I crossed that insurance barrier, there are so many factors involved in calculating your premium that just one wont make a massive discount, you definatley wont get a reduction in premium half way through a year..

which insurer costs £1.50pm to call? that's silly

There is some truth in it.. when you reach the age of 25 a lot more insurers will offer you cover which can drive the price down.

Feel free to PM me your name and phone number if you would like a quote from my company, we offer a discount to members of this club.

Thanks

it was the case years ago that age did bring it down and it does if you have no ncb, a newly passed 25 yr old will get a much better deal than a newly passed 17 yr old. but if like me you insured you first car at 17-18 and have kept your nose clean then turning 25 will have made no difference as i already have 7 years ncb, a clean licence although thats about to change :bang :aargh i actually find that every year they try to charge more by atleast £150, and it only goes down if you are new customer.

ive asked my mate whose software developer for admiral, to programe admiral's soft wear to make my insurance cheaper he says he can do it but if got caught hed get sacked.
