So I paid the last fine off within 14 days...
only to be landed with another ticket!
Here is the new situation...
I work part time for a popular high street store who have private parking round the back of its shop.
Inorder to get to this road, one must have access past the the bollards, either by having a pass or speaking to someone over the intercom to let you through, but these people will question for what reason. There is a designated area for parking, sometimes I can't get in and just park infront of manager staff who are always the last to leave, so it's ok, I'm not blocking anyone. This parking area belongs to my store. I park here all the time, and yesterday I was stung with a ticket.
On with the pics...
The red is the bollards.
The green is the parking area. As you can see they are pretty far from each other.
Red is my car.
Green is the parking are.
Yellow is the parking spaces. (3 of which are taken by 3 managers)
Black is our rubbish bin.
White is someone else's rubbish bin, blocking what could be used as another parking space.
(Yes those other car's should not be there)
The facts -
1. The person who issued the passes (just a white plastic card, with a chip inside which the bollards detect) said
"this is not public highway" which then makes it a private road? (I have a name for the person who said this)
2. A private road is a road with no public access (bollards).
3. There are no sign posts up anywhere from the point of the bollards all the way to the parking are. (I have taken pics)
4. There is only one sign up on a wall but from a private parking company, the ones who have issued the passes.
5. There are double yellow lines.
6. "The parking laws are in place for safety and to help traffic flow, and should benefit us all." There is no traffic and I'm not causing a danger to anyone.
7. I left a note in my windscreen clealy giving a number to the store if my car needed to be moved.
8. I have only blocked in a member of staff working for the same store.
9. I parked exactly infront of the back door's to my store, (I could be loading equpiment into my boot to take to another store)
10. This is the same area we use to to bring in delivieries (via lorrys which stay there for over an hour) and move equipment to other stores.
11. The bin which I think belong's to another store, possibly the council is in our private parking area, taking up a parking space.
So I have a council ticket on which I have been told and looks like a private road. Can I appeal?
