Well its odd! On the same road less then 70 meters they just relayed it, and the same the other way, seems to be the forgotten section! i'd say thats neglagence

Sorry to hear about your misfortune matey its not good. Stick with the claim and fight it all the way its what I did against Salford city council and won. They said the hole wasnt there long etc etc but after a while of legal letters they crumbled and agreed to pay out 80% of my damages which was the front bumper new alloy and my sore neck. As someone already said take as many pics as possible with depth and so on it all helps. Oh and a good solicitor helped me as they pretty much just laughed at my first letter without a solicitors help.

It was 820mm dunno what that is in inches sorry don't work in that.

POTHOLE!!!! I've seen things buried in small holes. (sorry bit over the top, but that is bad)

Personally I don't think you've got much chance as the councils always have a get out clause which is something like; they don't have to pay out if they didn't know it was there but will repair it once you make your complaint as they are now aware of it.
