why is it that every year, no matter what insurance company i go with the renewal they send me through the post is always atleast £100 more than the previous year. yet if i put the same details into there websites it usually gives me a saving of £30-£50 over the previous year.

really pee's me off that i then have ring to them up wait for 2hours in a que to cancel my renewal and then mess around sending off proof of ncb again.

Yeah it's like a surcharge for you not having to physically do anything to renew lol.

In this day and age with the money troubles most companys have I'm surprised they haven't got back to you. Maybe the person you spoke to had just been told they were going on short time, theres a lot of that going on too around here.

I got my 09 coupe a month ago, had a temporary Norwich Union insurance while I shopped around and I asked them for a quote out of interest and they quoted me £3500 for 12 months. Mine is currently £1300 with kwikfit (0 years no claims). Rubbish but still the cheapest I could get on confused.com (my excess is £500 I think too!).

It’s 2010 already and everyone is talking about New Year resolution. I don’t have a specific resolution as I normally ending without achieving any of them. Beginning of the year is also a time to renew the car road tax and insurance at least for us. We insured our car under the normal coverage as required by the local authority. The insurance only covered theft, accidents, fire and other mishaps.

I think it's all to do with the 'new customer discount' you get these days, and they just hope you will renew to avoid the hassle of getting new insurance

I renewed my car insurance today........ 12 years of driving, 7 yrs no claims bonus, one accident in 2006(write off), Premium £425 fully comprehensive with protected no claims bonus, courtesy car, mods included new for old £250 Excess oh and that includes business class 1 :thumbup :lol .
Ive been with Noel Dazely for about 7 years now, They always come up trumps once I have phoned around looking for better offers. I never take my renewal price. Greenlight are always good and tend to be who I go to to get a low cost deal then go back to Dazely and they match it or beat it! Admiral and Premuim choice were not to bad either around the £580 but they didnt protect the no claims etc.

Stu
