Not sure whether it depends on the individual insurance company or not mate. When I checked my policy after the above incident, it did actaully state that I would be insured 3rd party only. I will make a point of checking my Sky policy when I get home, maybe things have changed or you're right about different companies .............

Anyway, this is taking the post off topic and if the information may be wrong anyway, a mod may feel free to remove ...............

Basically EVERY insurance policy will be different even if it's with the same company with a different person (particulaly with sky and adrian flux as they are brokers so the actual policy is with a 3rd party)

when in doubt you must check, and the third party cover to drive other vehicles is a optional, not a standard with all policies.

back on topic, you got any photos fella and I cant help lolling at "If you're interested, phone Frank" first thing that pops into my head is.. but I dont take drugs :(

good luck with the sale :)

I used to be an insurance salesman.
In the past, almost every policyholder was entitled to drive another vehicle, albeit on a third party only basis (as muan says).
However, in recent years the companies have become more fickle and "competitive" and many now restrict what circumstances you may drive another vehicle. For example, if you now want to drive your mate home from the pub in his car, you're not covered! So beware, read your certificate carefully.

Anyway, as my vehicle is, at £1400, of less value than a substantial prang would cost, comprehensive cover is essentially worthless. If I have a bump now, the company would be entitled to write it off and give me trade-in value only.

Once a car's value is down to two or three grand, third-party-only cover might be a better option.

Now stop talking insurance and buy my car.... :lol :lol
