What if they then turn around and refuse you the insurance?

and if they do refuse to insure you, you then have to tell the next company you try for a policy and they arnt gona like that

I certainly would NOT recommend trying this. Mods are not registered against the car and it is naive to assume they are.

If you have a modified car then speak to a mofifed car insurance specialist.

They haven't refused it, you've missed the point, they charged her an extra £60, whereas it would have cost her an extra £270 to declare them first. Whats the differnce, she's all legal, insurers now know about the mods, and she's saved £200. Whys that happened?
This is just another example of how crazy the insurance system can be!

we havnt missed the point m8, were trying to tell ya that uve been lucky, in most cases they would have problay refused u insurance in which case you then have to tell every insurer you get a quote from then and they wont like that uve been refused in the past, as it is you got lucky and good to ya m8 better in ur pocket than theres

definately best to declare ALL mods upfront. If your girlfriend had picked up the car with insurance stating it was unmodified and then been involved in an accident it is likely the insurance company would have invalidated her insurance. They clearly ask 99% of the time either is the car standard or has the car been modified. She obviously stated yes its standard or no it hasn't been modified when first asked (when you thought they would have known about the mods anyway).

They could easily have refused insurance as you/she has blatently lied to them.
