My insurance for my gen 1 . 2.0 SE auto with 9 years ncd,Protected is only Â£207.Compared to my M reg Peugeot 106 1.4 which cost me Â£320. How does that work out?

106's are driven by youngsters who wreak them and are broken into for doner parts for other 106's, the coupes are not as popular (even though they are better) so don't get in as many accidents or get broken into/stolen

well im 22, 23 in couple weeks, 5years protected ncd with no points. I was payin 680 standard but i have just gettin a quote from adrian flux with all my mods coz more than, my current insurance company have told my that they will cancel my insurance if i mod my car (OH SH!T), the quote with all my mods Â£689 , i couldnt believe it

Ive got Sp30
Two claims (total Â£9000)
Zero NCB
And mine is Â£520 fully comp on a gen 3 V6

... now here is the weird bit. Confused. commed one night and the best quote was Â£800 ish.
Next morning it went down to Â£650 with the same company.
The day I went to buy it I got it down to Â£520

by another company.

Not sure what was going on but it went in my favour

always pays to shop around. The one tip i have learnt, that if you are ringing for insurance for within 48 hours or so - the insurance companies will never budge. If youre ringing 3 weeks in advance, and let them know you are shopping around - all of the sudden they become very competative...

guess they know that if you have only 48 hours then you'll grab what you can at the time

To ace page, no its part of the deal with more than, so i wouldnt be able to go to another company and claim i have 5 years no claims. I'v actually got 2 years ncb.

Some lucky bu**ers on here.

Just got mine renewed - Â£1150. Was Â£1700 last year. Im 23 with 3 years no claims, no mods as of yet (apart from snorkus which makes no difference) & 3 points. On a gen 3 2.0l. Planning on getting new/sprayed headlights, lexus taillights, 18" alloys & CAI kit fitted in the not too distant future which will probably increase that by about a grand or something knowing these robbing gits.

Get this though - my first car, a 1.9 Diesel Golf Mk3 cost me Â£1900 in the first year!!! Its no wonder people drive about with no insurance.

Anyone notice any problems on Confused.com recently too? When I get quotes on there now only 2 companies will quote me & they are both Â£2000+. Whereas Comparethemarket gave me 10's of quotes between Â£1000-1500. Oddly enough one of those is Kwik fit (who im now with) & they wereone of the ones quoting Â£2000+ on confused.com. Very strange....
