Hi all,

right there is this very nice Hyundai Coupe 2.0 FX im very interested in and thinking about buying.

Basically its been imported from Ireland and its got the English license plates.

HOWEVER! When i put it in for a quote on the internet it doesnt no of the plate and i have to put the car details in manually: make, model, engine...

Is this a common thing? Like if i rang the insurance company would they be able to insure it, or is a dodgy plate? Or just newwly transferred plate and not been picked up on the system yet...

Im in love with this Coupe really want to get it by the weekend, ANY help would be greatly appreciated guys!

Just get it, phone up the insurance company instead of internet. Try adrain flux or sky

i'd assume its the DVLA's fault. I had a R reg Renault Megane Sport (5 door) which came up as BOTH a blue megane sport, AND a black megane coupe. So the dvla database insurers use isn't exactly trustworthy

shouldn't be too hard to find a Gen 3 SE in the UK

im not sure but i think isaw a post stating that if its an import u may not have hyundai warranty.

really thats weird cos Hyundai Ireland said they would honour the UK warrenty (thank God as i had to use it!) I wonder why Hyundai UK wont cover it????

one small thing about the FX!the pre F/L cars that are FX dont have a metal grain effect dash or window controls!none of the Gen3 FX's that are here have the metal effect that the S/SE/V6 models come with but the wrong was righted in the 2005 facelift!
