Does anybody know where the wire for the reversing light passes through the car? It must start somewhere in the gearbox and ends at the rear of the car at the lights. I want to connect a relay near the radio to swith it into ATT mode (mute) when I reverse.

Gammelleiche, I cant point this out to you as I havent looked for it. Usually its a plug on the side of the gear box. Maybe it could be taken from the fuse board connection. There is a link given for the HMA site in the COUPE NEWS section. When you go into the site you must do a search to find what you need. You must register first. Hope this is helpful. Aber warum?

"Warum" you asked? Because I have fitted some parking sensors and I want to hear the beep-beep sound.

Ich bin dumkopf. Hope the link is helpful, sorry i couldnt be more specific. Someone should post with a better answer soon. It could be possible to use the parking sensor to provide the signal, but only if it is also switched by selecting reverse.

Gibt gas gammelleiche.

Which Coupe? As Glynn says, the reverse lamp switch is nearly always in the gearbox. In the case of the Gen 1 it's E27 in the following pic:

One side of the switch is fed a permanent 12v (at least whilst the car is on) and the other goes to 12V when reverse is selected (and thus the switch closed). This side then of course goes to the reverse lights - if you tap into this wire (I'd do it at the switch end unless anyone can identify the particular wire within the main loom that traverses the car) to power your relay you'll be fine.

It's a gen 2 (sorry, the profile of the new forums can't store the cars details anymore) and I think I've seen the plug. I hoped to find the wire somewhere inside the car which would make the job much easier.
