Not sure if this is the correct section for this query, but here goes.
Has anyone purchased/used any of the OBD II scanners to connect and read/erase the DTC (fault codes) from the engine managemnet system via the control port under the drivers dash.
Halfords OBD I scanners are approx £18-£20 however I was shocked to find out that their OBD II scanner was £139.99 !!!
Having searched the internet I have found a cheap scanner for approx £65 which also appears tobe better than the stock Halfords one, called the Pocket Scan.
This scanner is really just a reader and does not take live data or run through PC software.
I am not particularly interested in 'tweaking' settings ala 'street racers' etc. but just wish to monitor the 'Check Engine' light status.
Any info or experiences, or recommendations would be much appreciated.
