Update, I've taken off TA and so far the problem has been solved.

One point worth mentioning is that many radios will store the current TA/TP setting when you assign a particular frequency to memory and this will be restored every time you switch to that station. Hence, it may be worth checking this in case you find TA/TP turning itself back on.
