some little f*** broke my beloved fishing rod aerial off and its stuck in the housing so il have to replace it!! so i was thinking of getting a electric one seeing as im replacing it anyway!!
but would the wiring be there for the motor to actually get it up and down when i start the car or is there any other way i could wire it up???

The wiring is probably not going to be there as the gen3 (AFAIK) never came with auto aerial option.

Easy enough to sort though. They need a 12v connection to the battery, and then they take the signal to raise and lower the aerial from the same wire on the radio that you'd use to turn an Amp on. AUX wire, I belive.

there's an access panel in the v6 to get to the arial motor (albeit not big enough to take it out to see what needs fixing to make it go down again.) hopefully this is carried across to the other models and you can use the thumb screws to take a peak.

If I wire it up myself wont I have to take off aload of interior trim to get the wires from the radio to the back tho

You need to remove the passenger side boot trim, and the passenger side kick plate. Straighten out a coat hanger and feed that through to hook onto the wire to pull through to save taking the interior trim off. Then run it up behind the glovebox to the centre console.
