as its cold down here in bromley the wife decided to start the car and let it warm up b4 going to work. she tried getting bak in it only to find the doors were locked. didnt have a spare key so the aa hade to break in to it. Anyone else had this problem with the car locking itself??

yep door actuators. Search it, theres loads of links, help and advice. You need both changed really. If in doubt, PM dupleman

dont EVER leave your keys in a hyundai if you dont have spares cos actuators are a dog and go wrong at any time.
this is the first sign your actuators are going to go wrong.you need to get them changed(you can do one its normally drivers side but its better to do both)dont go to a dealer your looking at the wrong side of hundreds.
either speak to essex tech or buy off ebay and do yourself.its very easy

2nd day i bought it i let the missus drive it and she ended up locking the keys inside with the lights and stereo still on.
maybe in hindsight i shouldnt have moaned at her so much
i just thought 'thats what they do'
lucky i had a spare key, but still took 2hrs to get it

If you are ever thinking of doing that with the coupe then either keep your spare key in your pocket or invest in a remote start alarm!

can you fit them with the immobiliser though?

and I know what thats like, I'd had a torrid week, musto been a bit stressed ... somehow managed to leave the ignition on, meaning the CD player was on, the nagel eyes where on, my two amplifiers where runnin and all the dash lights ... had to wait an hour for Dad to get a lift to where I was with the spare key, you feel very very daft when it happens ... was one of the coldest days ever aswell lol!

its also good practice (of mine anyway ) when working on a car to leave 1 window down just incazse annything like this happens
