I cant get my remote central locking to work.
When pressing the button on the control the light comes on but does nothing to the car.
I have tried the obvious by changing the batteries in both of my controls but with no joy.
I can get in to my car ok via the key in the door method, and when you open the one side the other opens aswel, so i know that it does work in some shape.
Has anyone got any ideas as to what the problem could be.

Why cant i use my remotes to Lock and Unlock my car?

Another question - Is my car alarmed because i am only using the key to Lock and Unlock the car?

Any sugestions would be much appriciated

Craig :confused

Your car is not alarmed, just immobilised without using the remote.

As you haven't mentioned what coupe you have i cant link you to a specific fix.

^^^ IIRC, all the keyfobs work in the same way with regard to linking remotes etc...

Craig, if you have changed the batteries you need to link the remote to the car. I cannot remember exactly the procedure but it has been covered MANY times so try the search facility.

Hope this helps...

Was it the linking you needed to do?

Would be a good idea to put the solution here, for others to see :thumbup

For a Gen 3.

Reset the keyfob

* Put your key in the ignition and turn it to ACC
* Close all doors
* Hit the lock key on your key fob
* Take the key out
* Hit the lock key again - This should arm the alarm. Don't do anything dumb to set it off!
* Immediately hit unlock
* If your alarm responds correctly, then hooray for you, ya fixed it!
* Repeat for additional fobs
