I have a rather strange problem with my clock.

Yes I said clock :innocent

When I first got my car the clock wasn't illuminated and the cigarette lighter didn't work - anyway it turned out that they were on the same fuse from what I remember now. Changed the fuse and all appeared to be well.

However....it wasn't actually the case :blah

Most of the time when I get into the car the clock says 1:00 so perhaps I set the time and it all works. Now most of the time I turn the car off and start it again it's back to 1:00 but not always... So sometimes it keeps the time and sometimes it resets itself.

The other day it was keeping the time but I noticed when I put on my rear fog lights the clock display dimmed and went back to 1:00 ...hmmm

Does this sound familiar to anybody?

Or do I just have a special clock.... :shrug

Once the weather fairs up a bit I'll have a better look into it - I've read all about the problems of the Gen 1 clocks so just wondering if the Gen 2 is just as problematic.

Sounds like a loose contact to me. Either that or as Daz says...

It was a dodgy fuse in the end - been perfect since I replaced it using the "24 fuse set" from Poundland :thumbup
