i've bought one from aldi before and was quite impressed for the price. obviuisly the sound quality is'nt as good as a £100+ player, you get what you pay for but it does the job

It's quite funny really.
We own Hyundais, and rant about badge snobs, but some people would never contemplate putting a stereo in that doesn't have a badge like Sony, Pioneer or Alpine.

Ironic or what.

I remember seeing a similar stereo in Lidl, think it was £79.00, as yours but 50W and with Bluetooth.

you will often find that the lower priced "unknown" brand names are actually part of a larger well known company. Such as "Venturer" sell at half the price of normal sony units, yet are owned by sony. They can sell at that price because people often only look at the name rather than what the specs say of the devices. Normally, the cheaper units use the same hardware but use different physical plastic bits (the outside, which matters 0% of the time), and then differently badged menus (in the case of dvdplayers etc).
