Right folks, quick question regarding ordering a genuine replacement key from hyundai.

Do the transponders come preprogrammed to the car , or is the key simply cut for the lock set and the dealer must program the key for you.

has anyone ordered a set and know the rough cost of a 1) replacement key and 2) programming charge, if this is the case.

Car is 1998 gen 1

You can get the key cloned at most keycutters, best have the car outside to test it. Costs around £45.

Unfort not, I'm afraid I have the bare minimum.

I guess what your going to say next is that I need a complete new set of keys cut and reprogrammed to comply with the two keys at anyone time rule??

Ordered a new key for my gen 1 from hyundai last year, they needed the car for about 15 mins to code the key as I didn't have the purple one. Cost was £70.
