Hi, i have recently changed my low beam headlamp bulbs on my 1998 gen 1 coupe from standard halogen to zenon bulbs.

the problem is that the light pattern seems to be well off, one side is lighting up the kerb while the drivers side is on the road right in front of the vehicle.

is there a correct way up for these bulbs? i put mine in with the cut out part facing downwards.

any advice please.....

They are H1 and think they can only go in one way. Take your head light out (dead easy 3-4 10mm bolts) and then you can get good access at it and will be able to see if they are seated properly.

erm.. that's the pattern it's supposed to be, which is why when driving in countries where they drive on the other side of the road you have to have beam blockers as to block the bit that iluminates the curb..

is it not just that they are brighter and you're noticing it more?

There's really not many ways you can go wrong with installing a h1 bulb, they only fit one way due to the notches in the holder too.

Youll see this diagram showing that the pax side cuts off, this allow the curb to be illuminated, im guess to reduce the chances of you missing someone crossing the road when you make a turn. The driver side is lit a bit so not to dazzel oncoming traffic
