Got myself one of these today:
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_165685

To sum up the story

Kid: Free fitting
Me: Ok
Kid: 30 mins
Me: Go for it
Kid: Its to complicated and needs a specialist, u need to rebook to have it fitted again

Result: Half fitted unit...

So ye it all works fine just isnt secured to the dash properly as the facia etc has to be taken out, problem i have is tho while im waiting for it to be fitted properly (next week some time) the thing keeps reseting itself. I vaguely remember having this problem with my f2 evo and it involved swaping the permanent live wire or something. can someone please refresh my memory on how to do this?

Bet he didn't swap the red and yellow wires around like you are supposed to (think it's red and yellow)
That would cause the stations not to be kept.

just a little more info (although everyone previous is right)

the two wires that need swapping are the permanant live and the ignition live.
