Hey guys,

Just bought this head unit for my gen 2 coupe.

Bought an iphone cable that plugs straight in the back of the unit to go with it.

Currently I have my phone sitting in the corner of my window screen (exact mirror of tax disc location)

Was wondering if anyone has a good route to take the wire from the back of the new unit up to my phone?
Trying to keep it as un-noticable as possible.

Cheers.

If it was mine - run cable down the A pillar, drill small hole through the side of the dashboard near dash-to-door vent transfer pipe. Run the cable through here, under the steering column and across to the center console. Connect to Headunit. Job done, nice and tidy and out-of-sight.

Yeah, plenty safe enough. It's only a few mm's thick there - get some corks and drill into them to leave just the very end of the drill bit exposed, that'll stop you drilling into something you shouldn't. Drill the hole and expand as required with a Stanley blade or similar :thumbup

Sounds like a plan. Might see if I can get a rubber grommit to fit the hole around the cable just to neaten it up a bit more.

Just ordered it yesterday so should be a weekend job. Then I'll be trying to find excuses to go out in the car. :lol

Any excuse is a good one - I've driven 40+ miles for a paintbrush when I had my Coupe.

If all else fails, you know that petrol stuff is bad for the environment - so consider it your Civic Duty to get rid of the stuff as soon as possible ;)

received the new head unit yesterday. turns out the lead is a USB so it would have to be a fairly large hole to be drilled.
so plan B is I'm just gonna try fit it down the side of the dash.... hopefully it will look ok.

I did consider taking it down there but i was thinking i wouldnt have as easy access to my phone.

but then again i can control eveything from the new stereo so maybe i wouldnt have to have any access to it.

that's definately a consideration.

:lol well, where it is i can just press the centre button and its all voice control for making calls. then one more button for putting it on speaker.
so thats the same amount of button pressing as the stereo to make a call.

kind of like the phone being up there though. (for reading txts). that should probably be more than £60 but at least both hands are on the steering wheel and I can see the road past it.... :innocent

Yeah. Maybe I should put it down the centre. Out of sight out of mind...
