Dont know but have seen on a few websites that my car came with an alarm? anyone confirm? its a 1999 gen 1 f2 not evo...... :confused

IIRC, all gen 1's had an alarm and immobiliser fitted as standard - the F2EVO got a Thatcham approved jobbie though, the others were just factory spec and not that well regarded by insurers...

Hmm must have been taken out or disabled then, never needed to press any buttons and i dont have a fob.

Yeah, it would work off the fob, Joe - so yours has been bypassed, IMO :thumbdown

Any Thatcham endorsed alarm is gonna be good kit, tbh - should be able to fit it yourself in a day or so...

ahh but the insurance want a professional to install it to get a discount :thumbdown

Otherwise i would have bought a clifford alarm and fitted it myself.

the alarms are pants... like really pants :lol goes off if door opened from inside when locked.... and err bonnet boot etc - but very basic. If you smash a window and climb in..... nothing
