Precisely that. Driver's side sidelight is shining dimmer than passenger side...
Any suggestions?

Hi,
I brought my car 3 days ago nd both bulbs were shining very poorly. The chap I brought the car from said that he had only just replaced them but since then the beam was very poor.
Time for a look see mesthinks. When I took of the headlight, just 3 10mm bolts the chap had put the bulds on incorrectly. There is a cutaway on the headlight and the buld has a small lip that fits in this hole.

If it is not fitting in the hole the adjustment will look out and the buld will appear very dim.

May be worth unbolting the headlight unit for a quick check-dead easy to do.
Hope his helps
Jeff

Ps Thanksto those guys who respoded to my querys before I brought my car-I can not find the topic on here now so not sure what happened.

Bulb seated correctly..
Am I right in thinking that gen3 sidelight bulbs are the same as the courtesy light? (501)
Am looking to get some white LED courtesy lights anyway and use the old bulbs to place in sidelight that is faulty? 2 birds with 1 stone like...
If 'Yes' then where is a good place that stocks LED 501's??
Thanks
Ash

Hi,
may be worth checking the voltage, to see if you are getting the full 12 volts to the bulb. In my experience (not a lot with electrics mind) bulbs either work or they don't.
I know on older cars that if a bulb went dim it was due to a poor earth and nothing to do with the bulb itself.
Cheers
jeff

Got hold of some LED's in the end and used the bulbs from the courtesy light in the sidelight for now and they work fine. Tested the bulbs inside the car in the courtesy light and one of them was duff
